On Wednesday, Feb. 10, the Ramona Garden Club will travel to Poway for a joint meeting with the Poway Garden Club.
Michael Buckner will talk about the ABCs of designing with succulents, cactus and other drought tolerant plants.
Buckner designed the H. Warren Buckner Cactus and Succulent Garden at the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College. He is a well-known among local cactus and succulent fanciers and is an enthusiastic speaker. He and his wife Joyce are owners of the Plant Man Nursery in Old Town, and he will bring plants to sell.
The meeting will take place in Templars Hall at Old Poway Park at 14134 Midland Road. The business meeting for the Poway Club will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begins at 10:30.
Those interested in carpooling to the meeting will meet behind Wendy’s in Ramona and leave Wendy’s at 9:45 a.m. sharp.
The Ramona Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month, excluding July, August and December, and features a garden-related program, refreshments, opportunity drawings and door prizes.
